Hello! My name is Katie and I am a psychology major at a small liberal arts university in Texas. I hope to eventually earn a doctorate in either clinical or counseling psychology. For years I have struggled with body image, self worth, and personal identity. I also have spent the last two years recovering from the loss of my father.
I believe wholeheartedly in the worth and dignity of the human person. I believe every life has value and nobody’s experiences or perspectives should be invalidated or devalued. My goal in everything I do is to live with an open and generous heart, and meet every obstacle with determined kindness.
I am an adamant feminist, avid reader, and a big fan of dog videos (like this one!). Sushi, fuzzy blankets, pastel flowers, and introspection are all very important to me. On weekends I can be found reading existential phenomenology in my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle PJ pants, daydreaming about going to graduate school in the UK, and watching dog videos (another one!).
I strive to create a safe space for anyone who needs it and I’m always available to talk or listen. If you need to talk through something, vent, explore the universe, or virtually share a pizza with someone, then I’m your gal!
