Paula is a student at Brown University, who lived with EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified) for two years in high school, and still struggles with body image and weight issues. Paula is fully recovered now and has learnt to truly love herself over time. The first part of this video deals her own story and the second half (the most important part) is about staying positive and loving who you are.
"I'm not uploading this video to be praised for how "strong" I am for admitting this. I'm extremely lucky to be at a point where I can look in the mirror and love what I see, because I'm young, filled with life, and finally HEALTHY. I'm proud of that. It's nothing to be scared of or ashamed about. There are so many people out there struggling with EDNOS (now called OSFED) who do not even know it, and think that it's a normal way of life. We need to erase the stigma surrounding mental health concerns and bring attention to the seriousness of eating disorders. This video is for anybody who has ever wanted to change the way they look. I was there too. I still am, sometimes. You're not as alone as you think you are. Let's support each other."
If you are struggling with an ED or any sort of issues with body image and weight, know that you're not alone and we can help each other live happy and healthy lives.
